Alison Small (2nd Dan) Originally started training WTF Taekwondo in 1996 with James Cowan at what used to be the Queens Park Health Club, Bournemouth. Alison got to green tags, but found that studying (accountancy) was taking up all of her time, so temporarily gave up Tae Kwon Do with a view to coming back when she finished studying. Four and a half years later, Alison made her 2001 New Year’s Resolution to start training again, contacted Master Evans, and the rest is history. Later on that year, she took on the role of Treasurer and after not missing any lessons that year, 2001 saw her take the ‘Student of the Year Award’. In 2002, she also took on the Club Registrar role, looking after the insurances ,and travelled to various competitions in which she competed in both Kyorugi and Poomse, (sadly only achieving bronze or silver!) and running the top table whilst corner judging. 2003 saw Alison achieve her 1st Dan and the studying started again. This time Alison did not stop Tae Kwon Do and managed to balance her training and academic studies. She also has her first real crack at teaching, as well as going to competitions and helping to organise the Bournemouth Competition in November 2003. Alison achieved her 2nd Dan on 27th June 2004, the day before flying
out to Korea! She also did the
Instructors course along with several of the other Association instructors
making her an integral part of the Dorset team and instrumental in the
behind the scenes smooth running of the clubs. Picture Coming Soon!
